A Gilbert homeowner contacted us when their KitchenAid refrigerator stopped cooling properly in the fridge compartment. The freezer continued to work, but food in the refrigerator section was not staying cold.
The customer explained:
“The freezer works fine, but the fridge doesn’t. It’s not as cold as the display says, but it’s not totally warm either.”
This symptom is common in refrigerators when airflow from the freezer to the fridge is disrupted — often caused by fan or control board issues.
During inspection, our technician found that the control board was delivering incorrect voltage to the fan, preventing it from running correctly. Without a working fan, cold air from the freezer can’t circulate into the fridge, leaving one side cold and the other warm.
The solution was clear: replace both the fan motor and the control board. With both parts installed, the fridge immediately began cooling properly again.
